Personally this poem instantly brings back the sweet memories of summer vacation around 2nd grade. Those were the days! I picture myself with my best friend running around, hair still moist from the swimming pool, and playing sports till nightfall! It was the days when the was not one care in the world, when you could spend all day doing whatever you plese being completely stress free. I can relate to this poem very much so of having those good ol’ days that this poet once enjoyed as did I. This is all about the good ol’ days!

Whether or not to add fluoride to water has been a very controversial topic. Some people disapprove of adding fluoride to drinking water because large amounts of fluoride in water have proved to cause many illnesses and health problems including; premature aging, decaying teeth for children, pain in joints and hips of young men, premature hading of the arteries, an increase of stillborn miscarriages, and DNA damage.
Personally, I disapprove of adding fluoride to drinking water. I think that the negatives of risking adding too much to water and the health problems that come with that outweigh the positives of helping to prevent touth decay . I think that if people truly need fluoride than they can just get it from the toothpastes and mouthwashs they use.
Many technological advances had to be made before fluoride could be in our toothpaste and mouthwash. Acording to http://pubs.acs.org/hotartcl/chemtech/95/dec/dec.html the touthpastes could not be stringy or have it’s viscosity increase with aging. First a working fluoride-abrasive combination had to be found. Another technological breakthrough was MPF and later a hydrated silica abrasive that doesn’t hinder sodium fluoride dissociation.
The most concerning side effect to me is the DNA damage that can be done. According to http://www.wholywater.com/fluoride.html, if the DNA damage is not repaired, it can damage a cell that gives a rise to a sperm and egg cell, the damage will be replicated in every cell of an offspring’s body, which will lead to birth defect. If the DNA damage is not repaired in the offspring’s body it can lead to tumors and/or cancer! As you can see adding fluoride to drinking water can end up being very bad with high amounts. And that ladies and gentlman was Fraser’s thought of the day. ; 0
